Analysis of video game


Language -
The cover of the game presents a few football players, so this suggests that this game is aimed at people who are competitive and have a strong passion for football. The developer of the game 'EA Sports' is on all of the copies of the game. The advert also shows how all the different platforms are printed on the front covers of the game; this emphasises how the game is aimed at a wide audience who use a different range of platforms.

The game is available on multiple platforms such as: Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2&3, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Wii, Wii U, iOS and Windows Phone 8.

Audience - 
In my opinion, I think that this game is mainly targeted at males (aged 9 - 25) with 80% boys and 20% girls. 

Representation - 
The background image is a stadium filled with loads of people (football fans), so this implies that the game is set in a stadium. In general, football matches are set in stadiums.

    EBI: Media language needs to look at the key conventions of an advert - title, game cover, platform, central image, developer etc.
    LR: Go back to the language section and add the key conventions that make it an advert.
